Rotation/Shifts

Days, 8 hour shifts. For information purposes only - The Hospital reserves the right to change.

Basic Requirements
  • Diploma from a certified full-time ophthalmic technologist training program from a recognized institution;
  • Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist, COMT Certification with the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO);
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge in ophthalmology and disease process;
  • Demonstrates advanced technical skills in tonometry, visual fields, color vision, clinical optics, ocular motility, photography and pharmacology;
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of regulatory standards;
  • Demonstrates ability and desire to supervise, lead, coach and mentor;
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills;
  • Demonstrates professional approach to patients, public and colleagues;
  • Demonstrates personal commitment to continuing education and research;
  • Ability to prioritize and adjust to changes as well as unexpected situations;
  • Eligible to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current experience as a Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist;
  • Proficiency in English and French - oral expression (advanced level) and Comprehension (advanced level).
