Island Health is seeking an Ophthalmology locum to cover outpatient clinics and surgeries throughout the year in Comox Valley. This role involves providing comprehensive eye care including exams, diagnosis, and treatment planning. The area offers an excellent quality of life with incredible outdoor activities and a friendly community.
We have an opportunity for an Ophthalmology locum throughout the year. The role includes outpatient clinics three days a week, outpatient minor surgeries one day a week, and cataract surgeries one day a week. On-call coverage is required for 7 consecutive days. The provider will deliver care in clinic and/or at North Island Hospital - Comox Valley, including eye exams, diagnosis, and care planning for all patients.

The physician community is welcoming and collegial, with 19 full-service medical clinics, two walk-in clinics, and a military base clinic. The area is served by the Island Health-run Comox Valley Hospital, a 146-bed acute care facility.
Working hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday. On-call duties after hours are required.
Remuneration
Fee-for-Service, MOCAP.
Education, Training, and Experience
Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.
