Job summary

A healthcare institution in Alberta is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician I to perform eye function measurements and assist ophthalmologists in diagnosing and treating eye disorders. Candidates must have certification by JCAHPO and experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant or Technician in a healthcare setting. Qualifications

  • Minimum three years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in an eye clinic.
  • Experience with Netcare & Connect Care required.
  • Strong understanding of ocular anatomy and infection control.

Responsibilities

  • Perform intermediate to advanced level eye function measurements.
  • Assist ophthalmologists in diagnosing and treating eye disorders.
  • Educate and instruct patients concerning eye care.
