Job summary

A road maintenance company in Yukon is seeking individuals with a Class 1 or 3 driver's license to operate heavy equipment for highway maintenance. Candidates must pass drug testing and be physically fit. We offer competitive wages ($28.99 to $35.55/hr) and benefits. Preference will be given to local applicants, and a comprehensive benefits package is included.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid Class 1 or 3 driver's license with air endorsement.
  • Clear 3-year driver's abstract.
  • Previous experience operating a snowplow truck and/or wheel loader is a strong asset.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Operate snowplow trucks wheel loaders and other heavy equipment as required
  • Maintain Alaska Highways year-round including assisting with Labourer duties (crack sealing pothole repair bridge and signage cleaning hazard remediation etc.)
  • Work outside in all weather conditions
Qualifications
  • Successful completion pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasksincluding lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid Class 1 or 3 drivers license with air endorsement
  • Clear 3-year drivers abstract
  • Previous experience operating a snowplow truck and / or wheel loader is a strong asset
Work Conditions
  • As we respond to various weather patterns some shift work on-call and night shift will be required
  • Benefits and RSPs provided by CLAC
  • Camp provided in remote locations
  • Due to the nature of the work preference will be given to local applicants
Compensation

Operators will be provided a base rate of $28.99 to $35.55 / hr.
