Overview

(LHL) is offering road maintenance opportunities across Northern BC with year-round employment and contracts lasting up to three years. We are seeking enthusiastic, team-oriented individuals to help keep the Alaska highway safe. Responsibilities
  • Operate snowplow trucks, wheel loaders, and other heavy equipment as required
  • Maintain Alaska Highways year-round, including assisting with Labourer duties (crack sealing, pothole repair, bridge and signage cleaning, hazard remediation, etc.)
  • Work outside in all weather conditions
Qualifications
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Valid Class 1 or 3 driver’s license with air endorsement
  • Clear 3-year driver’s abstract
  • Previous experience operating a snowplow truck and/or wheel loader is a strong asset
Work Conditions
  • Some shift work, on-call, and night shift will be required as we respond to various weather patterns
  • Benefits and RSPs provided by CLAC union
  • Camp provided in remote locations
  • Preference given to local applicants
Compensation
  • Base wage range of $28.99 to $35.55 per hour. Individuals will be assigned a base wage within this range based on trade certification and/or apprenticeship level, industry experience, and work location.
  • Remote, site-based positions may be eligible for additional incentives including travel and accommodation allowances.
