Essential Responsibilities:
  • Operate snowplow trucks, wheel loaders, and other heavy equipment as required
  • Maintain Alaska Highways year-round, including assisting with Labourer duties (crack sealing, pothole repair, bridge and signage cleaning, hazard remediation, etc.)
  • Work outside in all weather conditions
Qualifications:
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid Class 1 or 3 driver’s license with air endorsement
  • Clear 3-year driver’s abstract
  • Previous experience operating a snowplow truck and/or wheel loader is a strong asset
Work Conditions:
  • Some shift work, on-call, and night shifts due to weather conditions
  • Benefits and RSPs provided by CLAC
  • Camp provided in remote locations
  • Preference given to local applicants
Compensation:
  • Base rate of $28.99 to $35.55/hr, depending on experience and location

This wage range applies, with potential additional incentives such as travel and accommodation allowances for remote positions. We offer a comprehensive health and benefits package, including dental, vision, disability, life insurance, mental health resources, and a competitive retirement plan, administered through the Union per collective agreement.
