Job summary

Sotera Health Company in Ontario, Canada is seeking an Operator to monitor the sterilization line, observing pressure, temperature and relative humidity on charts and monitors and ensure products move through the facility at the right times. Responsibilities include turning valves, adjusting controls for safe operation, observing sterilizers for malfunctions, documenting readings, and reporting issues.

Requirements: high school diploma, 6–12 months in a sterilization environment, English

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 6–12 months of experience in a sterilization environment desirable.
• Must read, write and speak fluent English.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and perform repetitive lifting.
• Must be willing to work established shifts.
• Forklift driving experience.
• Computer skills desirable.

Responsibilities

• Monitor system readings: observe pressure, temperature and relative humidity on charts or computer monitors.
• Turn valves and adjust controls to ensure safe operation of equipment.
• Observe sterilizers and auxiliary units to detect malfunctions and assist with repairs.
• Document and record process readings.
• Report any damaged product to the Shift Supervisor or Process Supervisor.
• Perform daily and weekly equipment preventative maintenance tasks and may assist Maintenance as required.
• Store and remove chemicals used in processing per procedures and laws.
• Participate on plant safety committees and follow safety rules and regulations.
• Assist with other tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
• Supervision: Oversees the work of Process Assistant Operators.
