Job summary

Bunge in Regina is offering an Automation Internship Program for students pursuing CS, electronics, or software systems engineering. You will gain cross-functional exposure and work on automation and control systems to improve reliability, safety, and performance.

The internship lasts about 16 weeks with a 70/20/10 learning governance, and relocation to a facility is required. Expect 8 AM–5 PM hours with travel to other Bunge locations as needed.

A Day in the Life:

The Bunge Automation Internship Program is looking for collaborative results oriented candidates with strong critical thinking and communication skills. During the internship, you will receive cross functional exposure to a number of Bunge’s business areas while performing various operational functions (i.e., implementation, maintenance, database management, and systems support). You will develop the skills and knowledge needed to provide a solid foundation in all aspects of industrial control system software and hardware technologies.

Location to be determined based on current business needs, you would be placed at one of our crush/refine, packaging, or grain elevator facilities. Ability and willingness to relocate for the duration of the internship is required.

Position Details:

• Winter Work Term: Approximately 16 weeks

What You'll Be Doing:

• Participate fully in the day to day operations of the department. This will follow the program governance of 70/20/10 (70% hands on, 20% informal learning, 10% formal learning)
• Develop a thorough understanding of department operations and knowledge in the following areas:
• Design, implement, and support automation and control systems that improve operational reliability, safety, and performance.
• Lead troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and automation projects while ensuring compliance with company standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions that support business and operational objectives.
• Demonstrate your level of understanding by responding to verbal or written inquiries from supervisors, mentors, or program manager
• Travel to other Bunge locations may be required

Qualifications:

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Systems Engineering, Software System Engineering, or equivalent from a four year accredited college or university
• Must be collaborative, results oriented and possess strong critical thinking skills
• Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, adversity, and constant change
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Analytical problem solving skills
• Proficiency in standard PC applications
• Standard internships hours 8 AM - 5 PM subject to modification as required by assignment and/or location
• Ability to travel
