In this role, you’ll work shifts onsite at our Halifax headquarters while providing 1st and 2nd tier support to IT Infrastructure Services, including but not limited to:

  • End‑user computing devices
  • Wide‑area and local‑area networks
  • Servers and storage systems
  • Backup software
  • Citrix environments
  • Flight system applications and associated technologies
Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor, manage and maintain Operational and Business Critical Systems. This includes Applications, Servers, Storage, Networks; as well as any related technology required to provide the services delivered by IT department.
  • Monitor, manage, and provide second tier support for hardware and software of Priority Systems to maintain the health and stability of the Production Environment.
  • Monitor and manage data backup solutions and media retention schedules.
  • Record and process requests in the ITSM software.
  • Participate in department meeting and encourage ongoing teamwork in meetings, open dialogue, team challenges and informal collective experiences.
  • Provide all levels of technical support from critical to low priority for our customers, including but not limited to, desktops, laptops, peripheral devices, mobility devices and software.
  • Involved in projects related to operational software and hardware systems.
  • Author, maintain, and communicate operational documentation, procedural documentation, and information to ensure timely and efficient response to issues.
  • Provide information relating to business continuity/disaster recovery, respond to and mitigate equipment and software and hardware malfunctions, standard practice and training guidelines.
  • Provide after Business hours 1st tier and 2nd tier problem resolution for IS services.
  • Perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety, and the safety of co‑workers and customers.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education

  • University Degree or Technical College Diploma in Computer Science with strong technical skills is preferred.
  • Any certifications from Cisco, CompTIA, Microsoft are an asset.

Skills

  • Minimum 3+ years related work experience in an Information Systems environment with demonstrated problem‑solving skills is asset
  • Intermediate level of experience and knowledge in IT infrastructure, end‑user computing environments, and telecommunications
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.

Experience

  • Knowledge and experience supporting enterprise applications
  • Knowledge of Microsoft cloud solutions including Microsoft 365, and Azure active directory administration will be an asset.
  • Basic knowledge and experience in IT infrastructure and systems administration, specifically in Windows server environment, including the following technologies, platforms, and tools are required:
    • Backup Software (e.g., Veeam / Data Protector).
    • Citrix, VM Ware, ESX.
    • Windows operating system such as Windows 10, 11; Windows Server 2019, 2022.
    • Remote support tools, like Beyond Trust.
    • VPN, WAN/LAN, VOIP Technologies.
    • Active Directory.
  • Experience working with client/server applications and desktop/printer administration and support is required.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in networking support and troubleshooting is preferred.
  • Must obtain/maintain Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) upon employment.
  • Knowledge of SAN Technologies, Virtualization Technologies, and Enterprise Server Configuration is considered an asset.
  • Previous knowledge/experience of Airline Industry applications (i.e., Sabre Suite/CAE) considered an asset.
  • French considered an asset.
