Reporting directly to the Operations Manager Foxtrap Facility the Operations Supervisor is responsible for creating a zero-harm environment maintaining efficient day-to-day operations and for the effective supervision of the operators and collection Drivers.

Job Duties
  • Supervise the daily operations including planning, assigning, and monitoring work for operators.
  • Create a zero-harm environment and ensure that the team upholds GFL’s safety and service standards.
  • Liaise with customers and contractors, conduct site visits and assist with quoting and tendering processes.
  • Provide coaching, feedback and leadership to the operating team as well as workforce planning and coordination.
  • Identify and recommend continuous improvements to operational processes and procedures.
  • Execute work plans to keep projects on schedule and budget and ensure maximum asset utilization.
  • Conduct customer and regulatory reporting and assist with month‑end inventory entry.
  • Report all incidents, safety infractions, non‑compliance issues and participate in the investigation and development of corrective and preventative actions.
  • Lead, motivate and develop direct reports utilizing Job Task Observations (JTOs), Vital 9s and Hazard Assessments to reinforce or correct specific behaviors.
  • Participate in the recruitment process and support the onboarding and training of new hires.
  • Develop, maintain and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs / SWPs).
  • Facilitate safety meetings and toolbox safety talks.
  • Ensure that employees receive levels of training that are adequate for the jobs they are to perform and that will ensure the preservation of a safe workplace.
  • Inventory management.
  • Facility and equipment maintenance and housekeeping.
  • Resolve and record all employee‑related issues, including those requiring disciplinary measures.
Requirements
  • Post‑secondary education and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years in a leadership, managerial or supervisory role.
  • Related industrial services operational experience preferred with knowledge of waste management and environmental services.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Proven knowledge of business and management principles, strategic planning, leadership techniques, human resources management.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Health & Safety.
  • Proven analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Superior communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to adapt to new systems and procedures.
