Job description

Foran Mining Corporation (TSX:FOM) is a forward-thinking mining company redefining the industry. We are seeking an Operations Planner to join our growing McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full-time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site working a 14/14 rotation.

Foran Mining is a modern mining development and exploration company advancing Canada's only greenfield copper project currently under construction: the McIlvenna Bay deposit in Saskatchewan. With commercial production expected in mid-2026, this world-class deposit contains copper, zinc, gold, and silver – key metals for the global transition to green energy.

As part of the Underground Team, the Operations Planner will be responsible for transitioning the short- and long-term plans into operationally ready segments that set the team up for success. This includes developing detailed plans, scheduling future work, managing materials, tracking action registries, conducting underground inspections, and facilitating collaboration between operations and technical teams. The role also involves monitoring production targets, evaluating performance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

We are seeking a proven, dynamic planner who excels at creating a workplace environment where all employees can thrive and reach their full potential.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead by example in fostering a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance, and conducting safety meetings and inspections.
  • Oversee and coordinate underground mining and construction activities to meet targets and optimize resources.
  • Manage equipment allocation, maintenance, and repairs to ensure reliable, efficient performance.
  • Maintain accurate production, equipment, and shift records for reporting and analysis.
  • Identify and implement process, cost, and efficiency improvements within the underground team.
  • Ensure compliance with mining regulations, environmental permits, and company policies.
  • Respond effectively to underground emergencies or incidents following established protocols.
  • Promote clear communication and collaboration across departments to support overall operations.
Job Qualifications and Skills:
  • 5+ years of underground mining experience with progressive responsibility and prior supervisory or planning exposure.
  • Engineering designation is considered an asset.
  • Experience with Pronto, Microsoft Project, Deswik, and other mine planning software.
  • Relevant safety certifications (Mine Supervisor, First Aid, Blasting) are highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of underground mining methods, construction, equipment, and drilling/blasting techniques.
  • Solid understanding of construction activities and work units to meet project timelines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to guide teams and liaise with site management.
  • Proven ability to identify issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement practical solutions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle shifting priorities effectively.
  • Must be prepared to respond to emergencies such as fires, accidents, or evacuations.
Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a competitive starting salary range of $110,000 - $120,000/year based on experience and qualifications. Annual discretionary short term incentive award at a percentage of base salary, rewarding exceptional contributions to team and company success.

  • Employer paid health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Life and disability insurance
  • RSP with company match
  • Camp-based position with travel support

Foran is committed to building a skilled and diverse workforce as we move into our next phase of growth. Indigenous applicants are encouraged to self-declare when submitting applications and resumes. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, you must be legally able to work in Canada.

The McIlvenna Bay Project site is a drug and alcohol-free workplace. Due to the safety-sensitive nature of this position and the remote work environment, candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment, which includes drug and alcohol testing, as a condition of employment.

Deadline for applications to be submitted is: December 2, 2025
