Operations Manager, Non-emergency medical transportation

Aaron Paramedical (A Transdev Company) is hiring an Operations Manager for our Calgary location.

In Calgary, you'll lead a high-performing Non-emergency medical transportation operation with a strong focus on safety performance operational excellence, and people leadership. This role is ideal for a leader who enjoys balancing day-to-day operations with building a proactive safety culture that protects employees, passengers, and the communities we serve.


We're looking for a hands-on Operations Manager to lead daily operations, support frontline workers, champion safety initiatives, and ensure reliable service delivery. Your role


  • Oversee daily operations and ensure safe, reliable, and efficient service delivery.

  • Manage staffing, scheduling, dispatch, and on-call coverage.

  • Lead, coach, and manage operational employees.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and client requirements.

  • Manage client relationships and resolve operational issues.

  • Monitor operational KPIs, service quality, and contractual performance.

  • Control labour costs, overtime, fleet expenses, and operational budgets.

  • Ensure fleet and equipment availability and readiness.

  • Manage incidents, emergencies, and corrective actions.

  • Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

  • Foster a collaborative and motivated workforce, promoting teamwork and adherence to company policies and procedures.

  • Maintain a strong commitment to exceptional customer service, addressing passenger inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.

  • Seek opportunities for continuous improvement in service quality and passenger satisfaction.

  • Assist in budgeting and financial forecasting for the operations department.

  • Implement cost-effective strategies to optimize resources and control expenses.

  • Develop and implement action plans to achieve operational goals and targets.

  • Collaborate with external vendors, partners, and regulatory agencies to ensure smooth operations and compliance with contractual agreements and regulations.


Your profile


  • 5+ years of experience in operations management, preferably in paramedical, healthcare, transportation, or emergency services.

  • Proven experience leading and managing operational teams.

  • Strong knowledge of scheduling, workforce planning, and operational performance management.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment.

  • Strong focus on safety, compliance, and customer service.

  • Financial acumen, including budget, labour cost, and KPI management.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational management systems.

Location and schedule


  • Calgary AB

  • Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week. Shifts may vary between day time and evening coverage, due to the nature of NEMT operations, weekends and on-call support may be required.
