Job summary

Republic Services Canada is hiring an Operations Labourer to safely perform general labour duties at hauling sites, transfer stations, recycling centres or landfills. You will help with yard clean-up, fueling vehicles and equipment, and operating general site vehicles.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Operations labourer is responsible for safely and efficiently performing general labour duties at a hauling company, transfer station, recycling centre or landfill. Responsibilities may include such things as yard clean-up, fueling vehicles and equipment, general vehicle operation, general office maintenance and other related duties.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Clean up work areas;
• Fuel vehicles and equipment;
• Clean track on track type and related equipment;
• Perform yard work, including mowing and paper pick up;
• Operate general site vehicles and equipment, such as water trucks, pick up trucks, sweepers, mowers, trimming equipment, etc.;
• Perform general office maintenance and repairs, including painting and janitorial work;
• Install temporary wind fences, as required;
• Direct traffic at the site as necessary;
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of landscaping and skilled using landscaping equipment.

Skilled using hand and shop tools, and instruments.

Demonstrates, accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail.

Must be able to prioritize, stay focused and handle multiple, diverse responsibilities.

Pay Range

The pay range for this position is $18.05 to $24.80* which reflects the minimum wage in multiple jurisdictions. The actual range will depend on the locality in which you are hired.

These innovative sites process rigid plastics from our recycling centres, producing recycled materials that promote true bottle‑to‑bottle circularity. We also formed Blue Polymers, a joint‑venture with Ravago, to develop facilities that will further process plastic material from our Polymer Centres to help meet the growing demand for sustainable packaging. We are building a network of Polymer Centres and Blue Polymer facilities across North America.
