Job summary

Job Responsibilities

Broad Function

Work with the Executive Director (ED) and Operations Manager to coordinate with other departments and external parties to service the needs of the nursing home residents and the organization.

Supervise Operations and Facility Technician & Facility Assistant to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

  • Building Maintenance & Management:
    • Plan and control all activities pertaining to the effective building maintenance and management.
    • Plan deployments and preventive maintenance schedules for all building facilities.
    • Monitor the efficiency, lifespan and warranty period of all building facilities, machines and equipment.
    • Work with stakeholders to design Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) for all facilities and equipment that relates health and safety for both the residents / clients and staff.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Assist the ED / Operations Manager to manage external vendors for the provision of supplies and services (Security, Landscape, Pest Control, Waste management, Linen leasing and laundry, Housekeeping, Meals etc).
    • Liaise with Operations & Facility Management (OFM) for effective and efficiency management of all external vendors.
    • Supervise the works of vendors and contractors and ensure that the works meet the contractual requirements and comply with health and safety regulations.
    • Conduct regular inspections on building maintenance, cleanliness, security service and food service provider to ensure high standard of deliveries.
  • Servicing equipment, machines and devices:
    • To track and monitor biomedical equipment servicing, ensuring that servicing is carried out according to the Biomedical Equipment (BME) Master schedule.
    • To test and service Rehab equipment and Gym machines to ensure that they are function properly.
  • Safety, Security & WSH:
    • Assist the ED/Operations Manager to execute the facility’s plans for workplace safety and fire safety.
  • Prepare statistics and management reports
  • Manage the maintenance and repair of equipment:
    • Assign job requests and monitor the time taken for completion of jobs.
    • Ensure preventive maintenance and ad-hoc repairs are completed in a timely manner.
    • Maintain repair work documentation and maintenance schedules.
  • Manage Technology & Innovation:
    • Manage IT matters and liaise with HQ MIS for IT support.
    • Constantly identify areas of improvement and be involved in Quality Improvement and Technology & Innovation projects when required.
    • To work with Operations Manager to solve operation problems and aim for continuous improvements.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Be aware that some activities related to the nursing home may require voluntary work attendance outside normal hours.
Job Requirements
