Operations Excellence Manager - Supply Chain CANADA

Location:Remote in CANADA, with relocation to our new HQ in the next 6-9 months

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Strategic Sourcing, the Operations Excellence (OpEx) Manager - Supply Chain will be responsible for defining, establishing, managing and improving key business processes spanning the Supply Chain function. This may include driving process changes, optimizing supply chain operations, business analytics, financial performance, and maintaining the highest levels of efficiency and effectiveness. This position requires a strategic thinker with excellent analytical skills and a drive for continuous growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve supply chain processes and performance.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to identify and execute process improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze supply chain data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders to optimize supply chain operations.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop action plans to address performance gaps.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Provide training and support to team members on best practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Prepare and present reports on supply chain performance and improvement initiatives to senior management.
  • Because of the pivotal nature of this role, the OpEx Manager may be involved in or lead projects of significant breadth within Supply Chain and as it relates to other functions
  • Manage Inventory:Oversee inventory management to ensure optimal stock levels and reduce excess inventory.
  • Risk Management:Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Cost Reduction:Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or efficiency.
  • Technology Implementation:Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance supply chain operations.
  • Sustainability Initiatives:Promote and integrate sustainable practices within the supply chain.
  • Customer Service:Ensure that supply chain operations meet customer expectations and improve service levels.
  • Compliance:Ensure all supply chain activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in supply chain management or operations excellence.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain processes, logistics, and inventory management.
  • Proven experience in leading process improvement initiatives and using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools.

Specific Skills Required:

  • Data Analysis:Ability to analyze complex data sets to identify trends and make data-driven decisions.
  • Project Management:Strong project management skills to lead and execute improvement initiatives.
  • Process Improvement:Expertise in process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
  • Communication:Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Leadership:Proven leadership skills to guide and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Problem-Solving:Strong problem-solving skills to address operational challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Technical Proficiency:Proficiency in ERP systems, supply chain management software, and data analytics tools.
  • Strategic Thinking:Ability to develop and implement strategic plans to optimize supply chain operations.
  • Attention to Detail:High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance in all processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in supply chain management or a related field.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with ERP systems and data analytics tools (Costpoint, SAP, Oracle, Procurify, Power BI).
