Status: 18 Month Parental Leave Contract (January 2026 to July 2027)
Salary: $53,000 Per Annum Plus Benefits
Remote Work: 100% Remote Work Home-office based.
Travel Requirements: Travel in Alberta, with occasional travel across Canada.

The Role

The Operations Coordinator (Alberta) is responsible for supporting our food rescue operations across Alberta. This position within the National Operations department will work collaboratively across our Food Rescue Operations division to facilitate food distribution to non‑profits across Alberta. We are looking for a strategic, partnership‑minded and resourceful team player who can engage with food businesses and non‑profit partners and maintain strong relationships across Alberta to help us meet our annual community impact goals.

Your Impact

  • Support of Second Harvest food rescue operations in Alberta, collaborating with the Operations and Food Recovery and Partnerships teams.
  • Provide excellent customer service to our non‑profit and donor network
  • Utilize Microsoft Dynamics CRM to monitor and facilitate food rescue operations.
  • Demonstrate the Second Harvest Food Rescue App (SHFRA) to stakeholders.
  • Represent Second Harvest at relevant conferences and trade shows in Alberta
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with local stakeholders, including visiting community partners.
  • Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in our food recovery operations
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently, take initiative and problem solve effectively
  • Collaborate on special projects and new initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned to support the overall goals of the organization.

  • Ability to travel across Canada to industry events and to meetings at head office in Toronto, Ontario.
