Job summary

A premier ski area association in Whitehorse is hiring for an office management position. Responsibilities include preparing correspondence, managing schedules, maintaining supplies, and supporting operational tasks. Candidates should have strong bilingual skills in French and English, at least 2 years of ski hill experience, and a Class 5 driver's license. This position offers a salary of $28-$32/hr for 35 hours a week.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of previous ski hill work, with preference for operations.
  • Class 5 driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and proofread correspondence, invoices, and reports.
  • Open and distribute incoming mail and coordinate information flow.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments and meetings.
  • Order office supplies and maintain inventory.
  • Answer inquiries and relay messages.
  • Set up and maintain filing systems.
  • Determine and establish office procedures.
  • Record and prepare minutes of meetings.
  • Arrange travel schedules and make reservations.
  • Compile data to support research activities.
  • Supervise and train staff in procedures and software.
  • Assist with on-hill events as needed.
  • Schedule operations staff.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, key in, edit and proofread correspondence, invoices, presentations, brochures, publications, reports and related material from machine dictation and handwritten copy
  • Open and distribute incoming regular and electronic mail and other material and coordinate the flow of information internally and with other departments and organizations
  • Schedule and confirm appointments and meetings of employer
  • Order office supplies and maintain inventory
  • Answer telephone and electronic inquiries and relay telephone calls and messages
  • Set up and maintain manual and computerized information filing systems
  • Determine and establish office procedures
  • Record and prepare minutes of meetings
  • Arrange travel schedules and make reservations
  • May compile data, statistics and other information to support research activities
  • May supervise and train ops staff in procedures and in use of current software
  • May assist with on hill events
  • Will assists with scheduling of ops staff
  • May be asked to assist with other operational task as needed by Operations Manager
