Job summary

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is seeking a Cyber Security Specialist to join its team. You will lead threat investigations, develop playbooks, and drive remediation while ensuring compliance with cybersecurity policies across OT environments.

The role requires 6+ years in cybersecurity, experience with OT security, and familiarity with NERC CIP standards; collaboration with multiple teams to improve detection and response is essential.

Qualifications

• Requires 4 years of University in an appropriate field such as computer science plus 1 year of further concentrated study in cybersecurity program (mandatory).
• Requires over 6 years of relevant cybersecurity experience, including threat detection, vulnerability management, incident response, and/or Operational Technology (OT) security.
• Knowledge of NERC CIP requirements or equivalent standards would be an asset.
• Advanced knowledge of computer sciences and cybersecurity, including security best practices, risks and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Track and investigate security threats using Cyber Security tools and drive remediation strategies.
• Coordinate with internal/external teams to mitigate vulnerabilities and provide action plans.
• Maintain up-to-date understanding of Threat Assessments, Risk Management, and Incident Response.
• Develop and maintain processes to improve monitoring, detection, and response to threats.
• Support incident response lifecycle and ensure RCA and lessons learned are tracked.
