Job summary

TEKsystems in Toronto is seeking an experienced Operational Tax Consultant to lead tax testing and validation during an asset servicing transformation, ensuring securities-income transactions are processed and taxed correctly across TCS BaNCS, Broadridge, and downstream systems.

You will independently assess tax scenarios, validate results, investigate processing issues, and help determine whether the solution is ready for Tax sign-off ahead of the January tax season.

Qualifications

• Extensive operational tax experience within banking, brokerage, custody, wealth management, or capital markets.
• Hands-on Broadridge experience within securities or tax processing.
• Deep understanding of securities-income processing and tax treatment.
• Experience with dividends, capital gains, withholding tax, and downstream tax processing.
• Experience reviewing and executing test cases and validating results.
• UAT, defect management, testing, or business-validation experience.
• Ability to independently represent Tax on a transformation or technology project.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate approximately 110120 tax test cases.
• Validate tax treatment for securities-income events, including dividends, capital gains, withholding-tax scenarios, and other income-related transactions.
• Confirm data flows from TCS BaNCS through Broadridge and downstream tax systems.
• Compare expected versus actual tax-processing results.
• Identify, document, and help resolve defects and processing discrepancies.
• Support UAT, retesting, controls, and final Tax sign-off.
• Represent Tax in discussions with Operations, Technology, and Project teams.
• Provide operational-tax expertise throughout the transformation.
• Ensure outstanding issues and risks are clearly understood ahead of production readiness.

Youll represent the Tax function throughout testing and validation, ensuring securities-income transactions are processed and taxed correctly across TCS BaNCS, Broadridge, and downstream tax systems.

You will independently assess tax scenarios, validate results, investigate processing issues, and help determine whether the solution is ready for Tax sign-off ahead of the January tax season.

What you will do:

• Review and validate approximately 110120 tax test cases.
• Validate tax treatment for securities-income events, including:
• Dividend payments
• Long-term capital gains
• Withholding-tax scenarios
• Other income-related transactions

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Toronto, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
