Job summary

Metergy is seeking an Operational Excellence Consultant (Engineering) to lead investigations, validate metering and billing processes, and drive cross-functional initiatives. You will analyze energy and water billing data, communicate insights to leadership, and support client engagements across North America.

The role requires a strong engineering or energy systems background, 2+ years in utilities or related analytics, and travel to client sites throughout Canada and the USA.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Engineering, Energy Systems, Business, or related discipline.
• 2 years of experience in utilities, submetering, energy management, or related analytical field.
• Strong understanding of metering systems, data validation, and billing processes.
• Strong written and oral communication with stakeholders.
• Experience managing complex investigations and cross-functional initiatives.
• Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools; experience with metering/billing platforms an asset.
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., Measurement Canada, OEB) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clear project priorities and ensure high-quality, timely deliverables.
• Lead investigations to validate submetering designs, documentation, hardware installations, and billing methodologies.
• Ensure accuracy of meter and billing configurations through data analysis and validation of rate models.
• Assess scope and financial impact by developing materiality estimates with SMEs to validate outcomes.
• Act as primary contact for stakeholders, communicating insights, risks and recommendations to leadership.
• Monitor outcomes and ensure sustainability of corrective actions.
• Translate technical findings for client communications and provide SME input as needed.
• Travel to client sites across Canada and the USA.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain clear project priorities and ensure high-quality, timely deliverables are provided
• Lead investigations to validate submetering designs, accuracy of project documentation, hardware installations, and billing methodologies. Identify gaps or discrepancies.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of meter and billing configurations by performing data analysis, validating energy and water rate models and identifying billing anomalies.
• Assess issue scope and financial impact by developing materiality estimates and partnering with subject matter experts to validate outcomes.
• Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, communicating insights, risks, and recommendations to leadership while driving cross-functional alignment.
• Ensure effective execution and sustainability of corrective actions by monitoring outcomes and confirming resolution of identified issues.
• Support client communications by translating technical findings into clear, concise messaging and providing subject matter expertise as required.
• Travelling to client sites throughout Canada and the USA.

Requirements
