Overview
The Operations Planner is responsible for planning of manufacturing activities. This includes the creation of the production schedule ensuring proper allocation of resources to meet the production schedule and analysis of requirements to ensure proper execution and adaptation of the schedule with changing priorities as necessary.
Responsibilities
Production Planning & Coordination
- Assist in coordinating the weekly production schedule in collaboration with the production management team.
- Ensure efficient planning of resources (raw materials, packaging, equipment) aligned with the production schedule across departments.
Inventory & Materials Management
- Manage inventory and ordering of raw materials, packaging and other production-related materials.
- Use SAP for real-time inventory management to ensure accuracy and visibility of stock levels.
- Implement inventory control measures to minimize overstock and outages.
- Conduct inventory cycle counts and participate in the annual inventory count.
Data Analysis & Forecasting
- Utilize SAP to analyze sales data, consumption trends and historical demand to develop accurate ordering patterns.
- Adjust stocking parameters to optimize inventory levels and meet sales forecasts.
Quality & Compliance
- Oversee stock rotation, batch tracking and expiry date management to ensure product freshness and compliance with quality standards.
- Implement strategies to reduce waste and optimize inventory usage.
Logistics & Coordination
- Coordinate stock transfers from other plants and warehouses.
- Assist with receiving materials and collaborate with logistics to coordinate deliveries.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Complete required reports related to productivity, availability and departmental improvements.
Other Duties
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Working Conditions / Physical Demands
- Working indoors both in office and from home office with air conditioning and heating as applicable
- Working under pressure in a detail-oriented environment requiring excellent organizational, time management and priority management skills
- Ergonomic workspace provided
- Conversing by phone and email consistently for full work shifts
Qualifications
Education : College Degree combined with basic training in production management and logistics or equivalent experience
Bilingual in French is an asset
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks appropriately
Working knowledge and experience in ERP systems, specifically SAP
Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite, specifically Excel
Strong and quick decision-making
