Job summary

Macdonald, Dettwiler And Associates Corporation (MDA Space) in Montreal seeks a Production Operator for the Satellite systems team. You will follow detailed instructions to operate machines and perform assembly tasks, validating steps and moving materials along the line.

You will work with production databases, use basic hand tools, and collaborate with a diverse team. Security clearance to reliability status and CGP/ITAR compliance are required for consideration.

Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • 0-1 years of relevant experience.
  • Good knowledge of French.
  • Basic knowledge of English, an asset (Work with Ontario HQ staff).
  • Able to follow basic assembly drawings and instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Performs high-volume assembly operations.
  • Operates automatic or semi-automatic machines.
  • Performs basic validations prior to subsequent steps.
  • Connects units and initiates automated validation.
  • Feeds materials and moves finished product along line.
  • Transports parts to workstations.
  • Supports Shipping/Receiving operations.
  • Other related tasks as required.

We’re on the hunt for a Production Operatoron our Satellite systems team at our Montreal office.

Role:

With detailed instructions, performs basic manual tasks and operates automatic or semi-automatic machines to complete a variety of routine and repetitive assembly operations on product components, assemblies or sub-assemblies. Level of responsibility: Works from process sheets or detailed written/verbal instructions.

Responsibilities:
  • Performs various simple operations for high-volume production.
  • Operates a variety of automatic or semi-automatic machines.
  • Performs basic validations prior to proceeding with subsequent production steps.
  • Connects assembled units and initiates automated validation process.
  • Feeds materials and pulls finished product from the line.
  • Transports parts to the various workstations.
  • Supports the Shipping/Receiving operations.
  • Other related task as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Capable of following basic assembly drawings and detailed instructions
  • Ability to use production databases
  • Manual dexterity and ability to use simple hand tools
  • Team player
  • Education: High school education or equivalent
  • 0-1 years of relevant experience
  • Good knowledge of French
  • Basic knowledge of English, an asset (Work in collaboration with the staff at the Ontario headquarters.)
Special Considerations :

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
