JOB OVERVIEW
- Our client is looking for a dynamic, strategic, and results-driven professional to join our team as Senior Manager, Supply Chain.
- Reporting to the Director of Category Management & Strategic Sourcing, this position is responsible for providing strategic direction, executing commercial contracting strategies, and implementing a robust supplier relationship management program. The Senior Manager will support our client’s category management across nuclear, thermal, hydro, and corporate functions.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Guide and mentor a team of category leads, fostering a high-performance culture and driving professional growth and succession planning.
- Provide leadership and oversight for developing and executing category management strategies aligned with corporate objectives, driving cost efficiency, business value, supplier reliability, and risk mitigation across various functions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including engineering, operations, and project teams, to align procurement initiatives with corporate needs.
- Lead and mentor category leads in executing supplier relationship management programs, ensuring consistent processes for evaluation, performance monitoring, and strategic engagement to enhance operational excellence and environmental, social, and governance standards.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with industry regulations, environmental standards, public sector governance, and corporate policies.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Materials Management, Law, Finance, or related field.
- At least six years of progressive management experience in supply chain, category management, procurement, strategic sourcing, or vendor management.
- Minimum of three years of leadership experience managing a team of approximately ten staff across multiple sites, demonstrating effective leadership, influence, and collaboration skills.
- Proven success in building and leading supply chain operations with a focus on category management strategy in organizations with over a billion dollars in spend.
- Deep understanding of current practices, issues, and trends in strategic sourcing, inventory management, forecasting, vendor relationships, and supply chain management.
- Experience managing indirect procurement such as transportation, real estate, IT, and HR.
- Ability to promote a service-oriented culture and maintain strong vendor relationships while supporting stakeholders effectively.
- Strong business judgment, sense of urgency, and decision-making skills under pressure impacting budgets and project performance.
