Job Overview

The Quality Engineering Practice Lead is responsible for establishing, evolving, and championing best practices in software quality across the software engineering organization. This role will drive the development and implementation of quality engineering strategies, frameworks, and tools to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. The Practice Lead will collaborate closely with software engineering, product, and operations teams to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and promote the vision, strategy, and roadmap for quality engineering across the organization.
  • Lead the adoption of modern quality engineering practices, including test automation, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and shift-left testing.
  • Develop and maintain quality standards, guidelines, and metrics to measure and improve product quality.
  • Mentor and guide quality engineers and software developers on best practices in testing, automation, and quality assurance.
  • Evaluate, select, and implement tools and technologies to support quality engineering objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality is considered at every stage of the development process.
  • Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives for defects and process gaps.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in quality engineering, and incorporate relevant advancements into the organization.
  • Report on quality metrics, risks, and issues to senior leadership, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of experience in software quality engineering, including hands‑on test automation and leadership responsibilities.
  • Proven experience establishing quality engineering practices and frameworks in a complex software development environment.
  • Strong knowledge of test automation tools, frameworks, and methodologies
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to influence and drive change across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
