Job summary

A dedicated youth services organization in Timmins is seeking Child & Youth Workers for casual positions. Responsibilities include providing care to children and youth in community-based programs, administering clinical support, and performing safety checks. The ideal candidates must have relevant qualifications in Social Services or Human Services, strong interpersonal skills, and a passion for supporting youth. Positions require flexible hours, including days, evenings, and overnights. Pay ranges from $29.41 to $38.18 per hour, based on experience.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a diploma and/or degree from an accredited College and/or University in Social Services, Human Services, or related field is preferred.
  • Full-time students in their last year of a relevant program may be considered.
  • Must have a valid G driver’s license and use of own vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care and support for children and youth in the community-based live-in and clinical programs.
  • Administer clinical programs, monitor activities, and maintain records.
  • Perform building safety and security checks.

Child & Youth Workers – Open Posting

FW Schumacher, Timmins – Casual positions in the FW Schumacher building (Intensive Services Program and Live-In Treatment Program opportunities available).

Responsibilities
  • Intensive Service Program (ISP): Provide all direct work within the community‑based live‑in program for children and youth between ages 8‑18. Duties include providing care and supporting development of life skills and social skills.
  • Live‑In Treatment Program: Provide all direct work within the program for children and youth. Duties can include administering the clinical program, monitoring and taking part in activities, completing records, logs and inventories, performing building safety and security checks, providing intervention to clients.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Successful completion of a diploma and/or degree from an accredited College and/or University in Social Services, Human Services, Police Foundations, Community and Justice Program, Paramedic or Registered Nursing (RPN) is preferred. A Personal Support Worker Certificates (Eight Months or longer) may also be considered.
  • Full‑time students presently active in completing their last year of a diploma and/or degree in Social Services, Human Services, or Nursing may be considered.
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours on an as‑needed basis including days, evenings, and overnights.
  • Must be willing to travel as necessary.
  • Experience working with children, youth and families is considered an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, organizational and communication skills.
  • Bilingualism (English / French) is an asset for some, and required for other positions.
  • Must have a valid G driver’s license and use of own vehicle.
Compensation

Hourly Range: $29.41 – $38.18 per hour.
