Job summary

WSP in Canada is seeking a Director of Hydrogeology & Subsurface Water to lead the Ontario practice, grow revenue, and drive technical excellence. You will guide a multidisciplinary team of hydrogeologists, geoscientists, engineers, and technologists, building strong client relationships and delivering complex groundwater solutions.

The role emphasizes strategic leadership, innovation, and responsible growth across infrastructure, mining, water resources, and energy projects throughout Ontario.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Hydrogeology, Geoscience, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline; Master’s degree asset.
• Minimum 15 years of progressive hydrogeology or subsurface water consulting experience.
• Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams and success in business development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic direction, growth, performance, and technical excellence of the Ontario Hydrogeology & Subsurface Water practice.
• Develop and execute long-term vision, business plan, and growth strategy aligned with client needs and market priorities.
• Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing multidisciplinary team across multiple offices.
• Strengthen client relationships and identify growth opportunities across infrastructure, mining, water resources, and energy sectors.
• Advance standards, innovation, digital tools, modelling, and sustainable subsurface water solutions.
• Oversee project delivery, portfolio performance, resource planning, risk management, and financial performance.
