Job summary
Johnson Electric is seeking a Jr. PLC Specialist in Stratford, Ontario. The role focuses on designing, programming, and supporting automation and control systems in our manufacturing operations onsite.
You will work with PLCs from Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Omron, develop HMI interfaces, and assist with robotics integration to improve production reliability. The ideal candidate has a relevant Electrical Engineering education and at least two years of experience in industrial controls and
Qualifications
- University Degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant College Diploma.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with industrial controls and robotics in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lead and support automation projects when required.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement industrial control systems for manufacturing equipment.
- Program and troubleshoot PLC systems including Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Omron platforms.
- Develop and maintain HMI applications and operator interfaces.
- Program and support servo motion control systems.
- Program, integrate, and troubleshoot robotic systems including Fanuc, ABB, and KUKA robots.
- Integrate electrical and automation systems into new and existing manufacturing equipment.
- Design control panels, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems including wiring, fuses, and power distribution.
- Support automation cell improvements and equipment upgrades.
- Train and support maintenance personnel on automation system operation and troubleshooting.
- Mentor licensed electricians in PLC programming and controls troubleshooting techniques.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects related to automation, controls, and robotics.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
