Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions in Ottawa, ON is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer (Systems) for an onsite role. You will design and integrate rugged hardware for mission-critical embedded systems, defining low level requirements and leading test activities to ensure performance under extreme environments.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in rugged systems engineering, strong experience with MIL-STD standards, and proficiency across Windows and Linux, with scripting and cross-disciplinary

Qualifications

• 8 years systems engineering experience in rugged deployed systems for harsh environments
• Experience with design and verification across full lifecycle of rugged hardware systems
• Experience writing clear, formal documentation and requirements traceability

Responsibilities

• Define low level system requirements (functional, software, external vendors)
• Architect hardware/software solutions
• Lead integration and test activities
• Ensure compliance with MIL-STD and DO-160/DO-254/DO-178C where applicable
• Deliver rugged systems that perform under extreme conditions and within a fast-paced team
