Job summary

Lakeview Recovery Community in Gunn, Alberta is seeking a Casual Licensed Practical Nurse to join the on-site care team. You will administer medications, monitor patients, and support recovery as part of a multidisciplinary approach within our addiction treatment program.

Responsibilities include nursing assessments, documentation, patient education on treatment plans, and collaboration with clinicians to ensure safe, effective care. A current CLPNA license and CPR/First Aid are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited LPN program and current license with CLPNA as an LPN.
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• Vulnerable Persons Criminal Record Check is required prior to employment.
• Experience in addiction treatment or behavioral health is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications as prescribed and document accurately.
• Monitor clients' vital signs and escalate changes.
• Conduct nursing assessments during admission and obtain medical history.
• Provide education on treatment plans, medications, and recovery goals.
• Collaborate with the treatment team to develop care plans.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and respond to emergencies.
• Document interventions and progress notes in a timely manner.
• Communicate medical findings to the medical director.
