Job summary

Ledcor Group of Companies in Edmonton is seeking a Project Accountant to ensure accurate and timely financial data entry and reporting across accounts receivable, subcontractors, payroll, and month-end close. This onsite role collaborates with management and project teams to maintain data integrity and compliance with contract terms.

The position supports cost and profitability reporting, billing requirements, timesheet processing, and AP/AR activities using JD Edwards and Excel.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related project accounting experience within the Construction industry.
• Proficiency in Word, Outlook, and financial applications including large ERP systems (JD Edwards would be an asset).
• Strong Excel skills with pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
• Analytical, detail oriented and able to multi-task.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, meet deadlines and provide good customer service.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Supports the project management team in monthly cost and profitability reporting, including accruals.
• Understands contract requirements for billing and billing cycles.
• Coordinates accounts receivable activities including invoicing.
• Ensures timesheets are collected and processed timely and accurately.
• Reviews accounts payable for cost coding accuracy and PO compliance.
• Tracks subcontractor commitments and progress payments per contract terms.
• Supports equipment and fixed asset cost tracking and reconciliation.
• Prepares and posts journal entries in JD Edwards.
• Prepares and reconciles daily/weekly cost reports.
