Job summary

University of Calgary's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a Tier II CIHR Canada Research Chair in Functional Tissue Biomechanics. The successful candidate will be appointed at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure track) and will be nominated for a CIHR Tier II CRC, starting July 1, 2027, in Calgary, Alberta.

Qualifications

• PhD in biomechanics or related field.
• Postdoctoral training strongly preferred.
• Proven track record of impactful research and ability to secure external funding.
• Experience with teaching undergraduate and graduate programs.

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead an externally funded transdisciplinary research program.
• Teach undergraduate, DVM and graduate students.
• Collaborate across UCVM, CSM, Schulich Engineering and Kinesiology.
• Engage in administrative and service activities within UCVM.
