The Oncology Nurse is responsible for providing holistic cancer care to patients over the spectrum of the oncology experience: assessment, intervention, treatment administration, coordination of care and follow‑up in the ambulatory setting. The Oncology Nurse will participate in patient/family education, make pertinent nursing assessments, collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team and provide appropriate interventions. Nursing staff work with cytotoxic and hazardous medications on a regular basis. Personal protective equipment (PPE) and training are provided.
