Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved paramedic program accredited by the Canadian Medical Association.
• Active BLS Certification.
• Active PMO Certification (including all current courses/modules).
• Active registration with NLPR.
• Current physical capability testing certificate (within the last 3 months).
• Demonstrated training and/or experience in IV Therapy and symptom relief medications.
• A valid Class IV driver's license issued by Newfoundland and Labrador.
• A current Driver's Abstract from Motor Vehicle Registration.
• Current registration number with Provincial Medical Oversight.
• Consistent demonstration of NL Health Services core values.
• A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance.
• A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency care and transportation of the seriously ill.
• Conduct physical examinations and assessments.
• Integrate safety into work practices and identify risks.
• Function as a leader and mentor within the Paramedicine program.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and physicians in the Emergency Department.
