Qualifications
- Graduation from an approved paramedic program accredited by the Canadian Medical Association.
- Active BLS Certification.
- Active PMO Certification (including all current courses/modules).
- Active registration with NLPR.
- Current physical capability testing certificate (within the last 3 months).
- Demonstrated training and/or experience in IV Therapy and symptom relief medications.
- A valid Class IV driver's license issued by Newfoundland and Labrador.
- A current Driver's Abstract from Motor Vehicle Registration.
- Current registration number with Provincial Medical Oversight.
- Consistent demonstration of NL Health Services core values.
- A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance.
- A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP.
Responsibilities
- Provide emergency care and transportation of the seriously ill.
- Conduct physical examinations and assessments.
- Integrate safety into work practices and identify risks.
- Function as a leader and mentor within the Paramedicine program.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and physicians in the Emergency Department.
