Job summary

Canada Post is seeking an on-call Post Office Assistant in Longlac, Ontario. You will provide counter services to customers with a focus on accuracy and courtesy, and support postal product sales to the public.

The role requires flexibility for temporary, on-call work, and residing in the community is preferred. Physical tasks include lifting mail containers and standing for extended periods. Training and experience in retail environments are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and/or experience in business administration.
• Experience interacting with the public in a retail/service environment, including sales and cash transactions.
• Understanding of general post office accounting systems.
• Physically able to lift mail containers up to 50 lb, push or pull boxes, sort mail and stand for extended periods.
• Flexibility to be available for temporary, on-call work.

Responsibilities

• Sell postal products and service to the business community and public
• Sort, distribute and process mail into appropriate classifications
• Provide customers with information and forms
• Address delivery and service difficulties to resolve problems thoroughly and quickly
