Job summary

Canada Post is seeking an on-call Post Office Assistant (Term) to provide counter services at post offices in the Rivière-au-Renard region of Quebec, including L'Anse-à-Valleau, Petit-Cap, and L'Échouerie.

Responsibilities include selling postal products, sorting mail, assisting customers, handling cash, and using point-of-sale systems. The ideal candidate will have high school or equivalent, customer service experience, and the ability to lift up to 50 lb.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and/or experience in business administration.
• Experience interacting with the public in a retail/service environment including sales and cash transactions.
• Understanding of general or post office accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Sell postal products and services to the business community and public.
• Sort, distribute, and process mail into appropriate classifications.
• Provide customers with information and forms.
• Address delivery and service difficulties to resolve problems thoroughly and quickly.
• Handle cash transactions and operate point-of-sale systems.
• Lift mail containers up to 50 lb, push or pull boxes, stand for extended periods
