Job summary

Qualifications

• Grade 12 graduation or equivalent.
• 2 years landscaping experience.
• Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, pushing, pulling and moving heavy objects.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Knowledge of tree planting, pruning and general gardening practices.
• Good problem solving.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Creative thinking in fabricating parts or tools.
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Performs manual labour such as moving furniture, shovelling snow and other tasks.
• Maintains landscaping around District facilities including planting, weeding, mowing, pruning.
• Repairs and maintains areas such as pathways, parking lots and playgrounds.
• Inspects and maintains playground equipment and related structures.
• Operates vehicles and equipment such as dump truck and lawnmower.
• Inspects equipment for safe operation and reports defects; performs minor maintenance.
• May perform duties of Delivery Driver or District Courier as assigned.
• Follows health and safety procedures to minimize hazards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
