Job Summary

Responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining oil burner heating systems. Install components and ensure proper operation.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning oil burners and their components and controls.
  • Lay out oil burner heating system components and assemble components using hand and power tools.
  • Test installed units and adjust controls for proper functioning.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and service.
  • Install oil burner components and connect to fuel supply, ventilation, and electrical systems.
Qualifications

Experience: 3 to less than 5 years.

  • Registered Apprenticeship certificate (or equivalent).
  • Oil Burner Mechanic (Residential) Trade Certification.
  • Oil Burner Mechanic (Residential) Red Seal Certificate.
  • Mechanical experience with float gauges, burners, pumps.
  • Valid Canadian driver's licence.
  • Criminal record check clearance.
Work Environment
  • Work site environment: Noisy, odors.
  • Work setting: Commercial (Residential included).
