Job description

We are currently looking for an Offroad Shop Technician (Apprentices will be considered). To work year around in a full-time capacity in our Acheson Shop the successful candidate will align with our core values : Commitment, Attitude and Respect.

Position Overview

As an Off-Road Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment such as graders, loaders, rollers, excavators, pavers, and milling equipment. You’ll work closely with our shop teams to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently to meet operations demands.

Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on a variety of heavy-duty off-road equipment.
  • Inspect, test, and troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Complete detailed work orders and maintenance records.
  • Ensure work is completed in compliance with company safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Collaborate with supervisors resolve mechanical issues promptly.
Qualifications
  • Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) or equivalent trade certification preferred.
  • Qualified apprentices will be considered.
  • Experience with off-road construction equipment such as Caterpillar, Writgen is an asset.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license (Class 3 or higher considered an asset).
