Job Title : IT Business Analyst – ERP (Odoo)

Core Responsibilities

• Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and the technical team to analyze, design, and implement Odoo ERP solutions.
• Gather, document, and prioritize business requirements across different departments (Finance, HR, Inventory, Sales, Manufacturing, etc.).
• Translate functional needs into technical specifications for Odoo developers.
• Support the full ERP implementation lifecycle: discovery, design, testing, training, and go-live.
• Conduct gap analysis between business processes and Odoo capabilities, and recommend suitable customizations or configurations.
• Understand Odoo modules: Sales, CRM, Inventory, Accounting, Manufacturing, HR, Purchase, and Projects.
• Familiarity with Odoo workflows, permissions, and settings.
• Experience in Odoo customization scoping and working closely with developers.

Business Analysis Skills

• Skilled in requirements gathering through interviews, workshops, and document analysis.
• Able to create BRDs (Business Requirements Documents), FRDs (Functional Requirements Documents), use cases, and process flow diagrams.
• Conduct fit-gap analysis and recommend Odoo-native vs. custom solutions.
• Develop and execute test cases and support UAT (User Acceptance Testing).

Project & Process Understanding

• Experience in ERP implementation or upgrade projects.
• Familiarity with business process mapping tools (e.g., Lucidchart, Visio).
• Experience working in Agile or hybrid project environments.
• Support change management, end-user training, and go-live planning.

Technical Acumen

• Basic understanding of Odoo’s technical framework (Python, PostgreSQL, XML).
• Ability to understand data models, APIs, and integration points.
• Work with technical teams to clarify functional requirements, assist in data migration, and test customized features.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Excellent documentation and analytical thinking.
• Ability to bridge the gap between business and technical teams.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3–6 years of experience as an IT Business Analyst with at least 1–2 years in Odoo ERP.
• Experience in ERP domains like Finance, Inventory, Supply Chain, HR, etc.
• Certifications: Odoo Functional Certification, CBAP, or PMI-PBA are a plus.
• Experience with Odoo.sh, Odoo Studio, or SaaS vs. on-premise deployments.
• Familiarity with other ERPs (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics) for comparative insights.
• Knowledge of data migration, reporting tools (Excel, BI), or API integrations.
