Job summary

DSV – Global Transport and Logistics in Milton, Canada, is seeking an Operations, Ocean Import professional. You will process shipments from start to finish, coordinating movement and monitoring while ensuring compliance with DSV policies and government regulations.

The role serves as the primary contact for customers and involves direct communication with overseas offices, airlines or ocean carriers, warehouses and truckers to deliver high-quality service and timely shipment processing.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1–2 years international transportation experience.
  • Education in supply chain logistics or international transportation.
  • CIFFA certificate and Dangerous Goods certification are assets.
  • GDP training may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Daily management and coordination of shipments
  • Establish and coordinate schedules with carriers
  • Create country-specific documents
  • Adhere to domestic and international shipping regulations
  • Track and trace all shipments
  • Prepare and publish reports
  • Proactively identify problems and implement solutions
  • Confirm rates with carriers
  • Responsible for cost containment of shipments
  • Evaluate shipments and consolidate loads
  • Ensure KPI targets are met
  • Lane analysis to select transport mode
  • Daily communication with customers
  • Manage new account implementation from SOP to execution
