Job summary

A healthcare facility in Sault Ste. Marie is seeking a Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy Assistant to assist with treatment programs, maintain medical records, and facilitate group therapy. Candidates must possess a Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy Assistant Diploma and demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills. This role offers a chance to contribute to quality improvement in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Occupational Therapists with carrying out treatment programs for clients.
  • Participate in facilitation of group therapy.
  • Facilitate treatment programs as directed by the occupational therapist.
  • Prepare assessment and treatment materials.
  • Record and enter workload units in software.
  • Research and collect data for special projects.
  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of equipment and work areas.
  • Maintain medical records of treatment provided as required in EMR.
  • Keep accurate records of and maintain all stock and non-stock supplies and equipment.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement.
