Job summary

AgeCare Jasper Place is seeking a part-time Occupational Therapy Aide to support therapy services under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. You will assist with care plan implementation, wheelchair adjustments, equipment inventory, and resident education to promote independence and safety.

You will contribute to interdisciplinary teamwork, perform clerical duties related to equipment, and help maintain a resident-centered environment with compassion and respect for seniors in long-term

The Opportunity:The Occupational Therapy Aide works under the direction of the Occupational Therapist to help solve physical challenges that patients have with daily activities.They help to assist with implementation of careplans, wheelchair adjustments and equipment inventory.They assist the therapist in providing additional training and education to residents in the communities in which they workThis position assists in assessing, planning, implementation, and ongoing delivery of therapy programsto encourage residents to function at their maximum potential. The key component to their job isrepairs on wheelchairs/walkers and making adjustments to these to meet functional resident goals.The Occupational Therapy Aide provides approved and directed therapy interventions to residents,clerical support to department, housekeeping duties with regards to equipment, and other tasks asrequired.
