About the Opportunity

Under the direction of the Health Services Manager, the Occupational Therapist provides consultation, assessment, treatment and follow‑up of clients in the occupational performance areas of self‑care, productivity and leisure. The OT works in a variety of settings: inpatient hospital, community, and long‑term care. The objectives of treatment are to facilitate, restore and/or maintain clients’ optimal level of function. The Occupational Therapist provides intervention to address clients’ occupational performance components (physical, cognitive and/or affective). The Occupational Therapist provides education and support to clients, families and caregivers. The Occupational Therapist functions as a member of a multidisciplinary hospital and/or community health care team.

• Graduate of a C.A.O.T recognized School of Occupational Therapy
• Registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia (COTNS)
• BCLS certification
• Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong communication, creativity, problem‑solving and organizational skills is required
• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

• Long assignment full‑time position; 75 hours bi‑weekly

Compensation and Benefits

$38.43 - $50.99 Hourly
