Job summary

University Health Network is seeking an Occupational Therapist at West Park Healthcare Centre in Toronto. You will provide high quality OT services, participate in discharge planning, and collaborate with a diverse interprofessional team to enhance patient outcomes.

The role requires OT registration in Ontario, MSc in OT or equivalent, and 1–2 years of rehab experience. Expect flexible hours and opportunities for professional development within a large healthcare network.

Qualifications

  • MSc in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
  • Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
  • Must achieve 80% in the FIM certification exam during probation (and recertification on request).
  • 1–2 years experience in rehabilitation settings.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to work with an interprofessional team.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and be self-directed.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and treat patients per regulatory requirements.
  • Provide education, training, and counseling to patients, families, and the interprofessional team.
  • Participate in discharge planning and liaise with community partners.
  • Participate in interprofessional rounds and document clinically in a timely manner.

Wage Range: $40.36 to $56.30 per hour. Start rate non-negotiable.
Shifts: Days - Monday to Friday
Status: Permanent Full-Time
Closing Date: July 22, 2026

Position Summary

To provide quality occupational therapy services to patients/clients while pursuing continuous professional development.

Duties
  • Assess and treat patients based on regulatory requirements.
  • Provide education, training, and counseling to patients, families/caregivers, and interprofessional team members.
  • Participate in discharge planning, liaising with community partners/stakeholders, as appropriate
  • Participate in interprofessional rounds
  • Complete timely and thorough clinical documentation
  • Complete clinical workload
  • Provide supervision to rehabilitation assistants in the delivery of occupational therapy services
  • To provide occupational therapy coverage throughout the Centre on an as‑needed basis, as appropriate
  • To provide on‑call services for weekend supervision of rehabilitation assistants on a rotational basis
  • Pursue continuous professional development, which includes active participation in O.T. Professional Standards & Issues Committee, attendance in relevant in-service educational programs.
  • Participate in service planning and development of advances in practice, as appropriate.
  • Participate in team and/or Centre‑wide committees, as appropriate.
  • Participate as required in revenue generating services of the Centre.
  • Participate in clinical evaluation of equipment, clinical protocols, as appropriate.
  • Participate in student education (e.g. student preceptorship, labs, tutorials)
  • Be aware of conditions and measures that may affect the safety of patients, residents, students, employees, volunteers, physicians and visitors including:
  • Compliance with the safety standards of the hospital and applicable legislation
  • Identification and prevention of safety issues and problems
  • Taking corrective action, where possible
  • Attendance at safety meetings/training/updates in accordance with the Centre’s standards
  • Ability to work in a manner that exemplifies the centre’s core values and helps patients get their life back
Qualifications
  • MSc (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent
  • Must be able to achieve 80% in the Functional Independent Measure (FIM) certification exam within the probationary period and on recertification exams if applying to work on any of the following rehabilitation units: 3EA (Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation), 3EB (Amputee Rehabilitation), 3EC (Neurological Rehabilitation), 2EB (TB Rehabilitation) and 2WF (Respiratory Rehabilitation).
  • Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
  • 1-2 years expereince
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (both written and verbal) and organizational skills
  • Ability to be self‑directed and effectively problem‑solve
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and within an interprofessional team
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Ability to demonstrate a customer service philosophy
  • Evidence of satisfactory attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to function in a consult model, as appropriate
