Job summary

Lifemark Health Group in Ontario is seeking a passionate Occupational Therapist to enhance the health and well-being of Canadians. You will deliver evidence‑based OT services and support access to care in long‑term care settings.

In this role you will perform admissions and ADL assessments, determine equipment needs, liaise with vendors for trials and funding, and educate clients and families to improve function, independence and safety.

Qualifications

• Registered and in good standing with the provincial College of Occupational Therapists.
• 1–3 years of OT experience; new grads welcome.
• Long-Term Care experience is an asset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Knowledge of current Occupational Therapy standards and scope of practice.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle may be required.
• Vulnerable Sector screening check.
• Tuberculin clearance (2‑Step Mantoux) within 6 months.
• Proficiency in computer skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, evidence-based Occupational Therapy services to clients.

Your impact

In this role, you will:

• Provide comprehensive, evidence-based Occupational Therapy services to clients

• Identification of appropriate equipment needs with initiation of recommendations


• Consult with local vendors regarding equipment trials and complete applications/funding letters to Ministry of Health, insurance agencies and other funding parties


• Provide education on seating and positioning, independence with activities of daily living, wheelchairs and adaptive aides as well as providing ongoing education to clients and family to improve function, independence and safety


• Provide ongoing evaluation of restraint use, wound prevention, falls, and injury prevention.


• Record assessment and treatment interventions in the client's chart


• Excel in a collaborative, inter-disciplinary team environment


• Exhibit sound professional judgment

Are you the right fit?

As one of the largest networks of OTs in the nation, you will work within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment, delivering high-quality, client-centered care across multiple long-term care, or specific long-term care homes. Key skills and qualifications include:

• Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists in your province.


• 1-3 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist (New Grads are welcome to apply)


• Experience within a Long-Term care will be an asset


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


• Knowledge of current Occupational Therapy standards, modalities and scope of practice; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.


• Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle may be required


• Valid Vulnerable Sector screening check


• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance (within 6 months)

• Superior interpersonal relations, communication, problem-solving, time management, computer and documentation skills


• Proficiency in computer skills
