A healthcare organization in Nova Scotia seeks an Occupational Therapist to improve patient care through individual and group treatment programs. The role requires collaboration with physicians and medical professionals, effective communication, and relevant licensure. Candidates should demonstrate planning skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Coordinator, assess, develop and implement individual and group treatment programs to ensure optimum patient care for assigned caseload. Coordinate patients' treatment programs with referring physicians and other medical professionals.
Graduation from a university program in Occupational Therapy recognized by the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapy (CAOT). Current licensure in a practicing category with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as an Occupational Therapist. Eligible for membership in the CAOT.
