Job summary

Lifemark Health Group in Leamington, ON is seeking an Occupational Therapist to enhance patient mobility and independence. You will perform evaluations, determine equipment needs, and educate clients and families on seating, positioning, and ADLs. Qualifications

• Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists in your province.
• 1-3 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist (New Grads are welcome to apply)
• Experience within a Long-Term care will be an asset
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of current Occupational Therapy standards, modalities and scope of practice; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle may be required
• Valid Vulnerable Sector screening check
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance (within 6 months)
• ADP Authorized Certification

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, evidence-based Occupational Therapy services to clients.
• Perform clinical evaluations, including admission assessments and ADL assessments.
• Identify equipment needs and initiate recommendations.
• Consult with vendors on equipment trials and complete funding letters to health authorities and insurers.
• Educate on seating, independence with ADLs, wheelchairs and adaptive aids.
• Provide ongoing evaluation of restraint use, wound prevention, falls, and injury prevention.
• Document assessment and treatment in the client chart.
• Excel in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment.
• Exhibit sound professional judgment.

Your impact

• Provide comprehensive, evidence-based Occupational Therapy services to clients
• Perform clinical evaluations, including admission assessments, ADL assessments, specialized seating and positioning assessments
• Identification of appropriate equipment needs with initiation of recommendations
• Consult with local vendors regarding equipment trials and complete applications/funding letters to Ministry of Health, insurance agencies and other funding parties
• Provide education on seating and positioning, independence with activities of daily living, wheelchairs and adaptive aides as well as providing ongoing education to clients and family to improve function, independence and safety
• Provide ongoing evaluation of restraint use, wound prevention, falls, and injury prevention.
• Record assessment and treatment interventions in the client's chart
• Excel in a collaborative, inter-disciplinary team environment
• Exhibit sound professional judgment

Are you the right fit?

• Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists in your province.
• 1-3 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist (New Grads are welcome to apply)
