Job summary

Wellington Kids Inc. in Kemptville is seeking an Occupational Therapist as an independent contractor to join a growing private SLP and OT practice serving children from infancy to adolescence.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, have flexible hours, and control your schedule while addressing waitlists with efficient documentation and high-quality therapy in rural and nearby areas.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Member in good standing with COTO registration.
• 2+ years experience preferred, but new grads are also welcome to apply.
• Experience assessing and providing treatment of gross motor skills, fine motor skills, sensory needs, regulation, and executive functioning.
• Training in neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed care an asset.
• Experience providing parent training.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessments, recommendations, and equipment letters, and develop individualized treatment plans for children within OT scope.
• Communicate and collaborate with families, SLPs, and other professionals as needed.
• Educate and train families to support carryover of skills.
• Provide timely documentation of therapy sessions, evaluation reports, progress reports and discharge documentation.
• Uphold the standards and ethics prescribed by COTO; help tackle long waiting lists (in-person and virtual).

Wellington Kids Inc. is a growing private SLP and OT practice in Kemptville. We have an opening for an independent contractor Occupational Therapist position to work with children from infant to adolescence. We are looking for a creative and driven professional to add to the team and help with waitlist demands. Have the opportunity to work in Kemptville and neighbouring rural areas if you choose to travel.

Have access to therapy tools and assessments

Be able to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team

Spend more time and energy on therapy vs. paperwork, commuting, etc.

Be in control of your schedule

Responsibilities :

Provide assessments, recommendation and equipment letters, and individualized treatment plans to children with various needs within the OT scope of practice. The age range of children serviced is from toddler/preschool to school age and teens.

Communicate and collaborate with families, SLPs, and other professionals as needed

Educate and train clients and families to support carryover of skills.

Provide timely documentation of therapy sessions, evaluation reports, progress reports and discharge documentation

Uphold the standards and ethics prescribed by COTO

Help tackle long waiting lists (in-person and virtual)
