Overview

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Occupational Health and Safety Manager for our team at AgeCare. As the OH&S Manager you will be responsible for a key leadership position responsible for the continued development of an effective and strong Occupational Health and Safety program for the Ontario portfolio. The Occupational Health and Safety Manager will lead, identify, create, and manage Employee Health, Safety and Wellness strategies for the organization with consideration to best practices, effective management, oversight, and day-to-day administration.

What You Will Do
  • Lead our responses to changes in the industry, support emerging issues and client expectations, and help operations in all disciplines related to Occupational Health and Safety to ensure AgeCare remains current and in compliance in a complex regulatory environment.

  • Provide guidance, coaching and technical expertise to ensure management engagement and accountability on benefits, safety, claims and disability management and to facilitate the execution of initiatives.

  • Build and support a safety culture by guiding the development and implementation of instructional and communication programs designed to enhance Health and Safety systems, accident prevention initiatives, and legislative compliance.

  • Collaborates in the review of the annual service providers’ account planning including individual annual contract review, renewal, and reporting requirements on financials.

  • On a monthly and a quarterly basis, managing the Health and Safety audit function, and reporting on safety/claims management performance.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience

  • Continuing education in Occupational Health and Safety.

  • 5-7 years of progressive senior leadership experience in a related area.

  • The ability to participate in extensive travel and a valid provincial driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

  • The ability to analyze and interpret information contained in business related documents, write reports and business correspondence, and effectively relay/present information accordingly.

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Workday experiences are a plus.
