Qualifications

Summary

• This role involves delivering rapid, high-quality care to patients in critical and life-threatening situations while working collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess pregnant patients throughout labor and delivery.
• Provide support and education to patients and families during prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum stages.
• Administer medications, IVs, and epidurals as needed.
• Assist physicians during labor and delivery procedures.
• Care for newborns immediately after birth.
• Manage emergencies such as preterm labor, fetal distress, and postpartum hemorrhage.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
• Follow hospital policies, infection control, and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for optimal outcomes.

Requirements

• Licenses/Certifications: BLS, NRP, and ACLS certification (required or preferred).
• Experience: Strong OBS background required.
• License: Active provincial license (Newfoundland preferred).
• Minimum [2+] years of experience in obstetrics, labor & delivery, or maternal-child health.
